Project: Simulating the Earth Layers

On Monday, students will have an opportunity to embark upon simulating the creation of our Earth’s layers as the students will construct and explain the physical layers of Earth in terms of its lithosphere, asthenosphere, mesosphere, outer core, and inner core.

1) Students will use different construction color paper for each layer.

2) Students can use plates and cups to measure and cut out different diameter for each layer.

3) Students will label each layer and write on each layer 3-4 facts to explain it.

4) Students will glue down all five physical layers.

The classroom teacher shall provide the necessary essentials for the disciples as they are asked to bring in any coloring pencils or markers at their disposal. Furthermore, students are advised to study ALL their lecture notes and Cornell notes to become very familiar with them in order to work effectively on this project.

On a lighter note, for those of you who maybe fretting over our latest evaluation venture on the mineral and rock study, rest assured that the classroom teacher has decided to use it as a learning tool for the students who like to challenge themselves as this assignment has NOT been counted against students’ grade but serve as a means of preparation for students’ education as they move forward. However, note that it’s been determined that if a student has attained an “A” or a “B” on this evaluation, that individual will be granted five (5) or four (4) EXTRA SUMMATIVE POINTS respectively.
