Mineral/Rock ID Test:
Students will be evaluated upon the identification of the minerals and rocks that they have studied late last week. They will be asked to observe and state the names of ten (10) different minerals and/or rocks from their list that they prepared in class last week.
Students are highly advised to review these rocks and minerals by observing them again online through Google Images to refresh their memories of what they have studied in class.
Essay: The Rock Cycle
Students will write a 5-paragraph essay on the rock cycle that will be based upon the igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks that tend to undergo the processes of the cooling and solidification of the magma over time, the uplifting process, weathering and erosion, deposition, compaction, cementation, changes due to higher temperature and pressure, and eventually melting over time should the rock touch the hot liquid rock known as magma.
