We will continue our class discussion and reinforcement on how ionic compounds can form through their ionic bonds as we focus on the behavior of valence electrons between metals and nonmetals in the formation of ionic bonds that lead to stable ionic compounds. Students will be expected to draw the electron-dot structure of a few atoms based upon their prior knowledge and show and explain what happens to the valence electron(s) as elements/atoms (metals & nonmetals) interact with one another.
