Students are to define the nine terms on the Quantum theory and the atom, elaborate upon Bohr model of the atom, discuss the sequence of the process by de Broglie that was put forth in developing his equation, i.e., the quantum mechanical Model of the atom, and further discuss how the Heisenberg’s principle influenced Schrodinger to develop his wave equation. Finally, students will compare and contrast the Bohr and quantum mechanical models of the atom, and be able to identify four facts about atomic orbitals based on the element hydrogen.
