Students will be evaluated upon the contributions of several scientists that include Democritus, Aristotle, Dalton, Thomson, and Rutherford among others. Furthermore, students will elaborate upon how to figure out the number of subparticles within an atom, as well as be able to explain and discuss how unstable nuclei become stable over time as students will demonstrate this point through nuclear reactions, namely, radioactive decay and nuclear fusion.
