Bellwork reviewed finding volume of a cone and a pyramid.

The remainder of the period students practiced using their knowledge of quadratics to answer some questions using a graph of a quadratic.

We finished our discussion on sec 5-8, the Quadratic Formula.

Hwk #17 is due tomorrow.

Students were given the answers to the review passed out yesterday from Chapter 5.

Bellwork reviewed volume of cylinders and spheres.

Students took a homework quiz today over sec 5-6.

The remainder of the period we continued our discussion on Sec 5-8.  Students learned to use the Quadratic Formula to get real and imaginary solutions.  They also learned to use the discriminant to determine if a quadratic equation had 1 real solution, 2 real solutions, or 2 imaginary solutions.

Bellwork reviewed solving equations by factoring and taking square roots (sec 5-5)
