Saturday, educational fun with Dearborn Music Teachers

Saturday, I had the pleasure of hanging out (aka, having a great time while learning new strategies and ideas) with some of our Dearborn Music Teachers and 20 other music teachers from the Metro Area.  We attended the Detroit Orff Schulwerk Association (DOSA) workshop, held at Madonna University, featuring clinician Pam Yanco.  The focus of the workshop was strategies for teaching recorder lessons.

Music at McCullough

If you are ever in the building say hello to me as I travel between classrooms.  I am ‘on a cart’ and pushing in to my afternoon music classes.  I have attached a photo of my cart which is complete with a portable word wall and Penny the Penguinimage.

5th Grade Band and Strings, Ready, Set, Go!

Yes, we are in the process of beginning out band and strings programs with the 5th grade students at Geer Park, Howe, Becker and McCullough.  Students should be turning in their permission forms and Receipt and Bond forms for using a school instrument.

If you would like for your 5th grade child to participate in Band or Strings and they have not brought a form home for you to sign you may contact me and I will make sure you get one.  I would love to have your child in the program this year.

Saturday Fun!

Some of the Dearborn Music Teachers and I had a great time today at a workshop for music teachers. We learned some new songs and music activities we would love to share with you very soon.

Here is a photo of me along with a few other Dearborn Music Teachers who were at the workshop today.
