Edsel Ford High School Media Center
Teacher of the Year
It is that time of year again! Time to nominate your favorite Dearborn Public Schools Teacher. I have attached the forms to make this easy for you.
Recorder Karate
Mrs. Reed’s 4th grade students are learning recorder. As students progress through the levels of songs they will earn take bands to mark their progress. This is why we call it Recorder Karate. Please encourage your child to practice their recorder at home. I only see them once a week and that is just not enough time to teach them.
Intermediate Pins!
Cogratulations! These two have very quickly worked their way up the song list to earn their Intermediate Pin!

Another Cadet Pin is Awarded!
Yes, we are on a roll! Another student has earned the Cadet Pin! Congratulations! All that hard work has paid off. 🤗🎶
A New Cadet Pin Awardee!
Congratulations! She was so excited knowing she would earn her pin for me today that she stopped in before school to play her song. She did it! Not only did she play this song well but she has also begun working on the Intermediate Pin songs. She played the first song from the Intermediate list and almost passed. She has to correct two rhythms in the song and then she can move on to the next one.
I love seeing the excitement and progress! This young lady just made my day even brighter!
During class this morning we had another success story! Another student has joined the rank of Cadet Pin! Congratulations!
Valentine Rhythms
Listening for Gallop or Walking music
This week we are listing to the rhythms in music. Does the rhythm express a gallop or walk for movement? For one of our walking songs we added a trust factor. One child is the car (unable to see) and the second child is the drive of the car.
