Water Cycle Song
I have posted a link to the Water Cycle Song composed by one of our Dearborn Music Teachers, Mr. Jim Walters. The links are password protected for copyright reasons. Ask your teacher or Mrs. Reed for the password and you can listen from home. This is a great way to learn about the water cycle in preparation for the MEAP test. To get there simply click on the “4th Grade” or “5th Grade” link on the right side of the page.

An interesting event in my classroom….
Monday afternoon I discovered a Praying Mantis has decided to lay her eggs on the window frame in my classroom. She was on the very edge of the window which meant that I could not close my window. I decided to go to the staff meeting and check on her after the meeting. When I returned after the meeting she was gone but her eggs were firmly attached to the window.
Here is a video of her in the process of laying the eggs.
Learning can be fun!
Here is a fun song for all 4th and 5th graders to practice. Learning can be so much fun for everyone! 🙂
05 What Do You Love About Learning_
Here is a copy of the lyric page for you:
Music Teachers go to Workshops, too!
I had the pleasure of attending a workshop presented by Detroit Orff Schulwerk Association and Martha Riley. We spent 4 hours singing and dancing together. I am so excited to teach some of these traditional folk dances in my music classrooms. I will post a few pictures and a short video very soon. How fun to see your music teacher learning dances in a class just like you. 🙂
Students write about their love for music.
Here are four of the speeches the students wanted to read at our Spring Concert.
