Do you love music and are you in grades 3, 4, or 5 this year? Then you should join our Music Club! Print the permission form out, have your parent or guardian sign the form and return it to Mrs. Reed. We plan to begin meeting on October 18. We will meet in the music room every Wednesday after school, 4:00-4:50. I can’t wait to get started!!

Dearborn Music Teachers had the best Professional Development training today.

Tim Maus and Lesley Dennis came to Howe School in Dearborn and presented a workshop for all of our general music staff. We had so much fun learning about the QuaverMusic curriculum and resources available to us. Lesley really loved our huge red recorder that Ms. Hmayed made for our concert last year. 😀

Thank you to all the students who performed so wonderfully for our concert this afternoon and to all the parents who were able to take time out of their day to attend the performance. The students did a fantastic job. Thank you to our wonderful Howe and STEM Staff for all you have done for me this year. Everyone has been so flexible, helpful and encouraging. I appreciate each and every one of you!

We are working hard on preparations for the Spring Concert. I have this fun Bunny song running through my head lately. Students in grades K-2 are performing a Pet Show themed concert and students in grades 3-5 are performing “Music is Amazing” which will include playing recorders, singing, and dancing.

We hope you will be able to join us for the concert, Thursday, May 18, 1:30 p.m., in the Howe Gym.

Thank you to our wonderful Art Teacher, Mrs. Hmayed, for all of the beautiful decorations. I am also grateful to Cheryl and Katie for helping out with some of the specialty art projects. Thank you to Johnny and Mr. Tapp for their flexibility with the use of the gym. Thanks to our building engineers and custodial staff for assisting with set up and clean up. And thank you to all of our staff at Howe for all of the encouragement, flexibility and support throughtout this year. We have a wonderful team at Howe.

Congratulations to Sam for all of his hard work. He has earned a Recorder Black Belt.
