The materials needed for the Drum Class Semester Final Project can be found on the iLearn Salina Drum Course. To gain access to the materials you will need to log in to iLearn and enroll into the Salina Drum Class. Let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to log into the class. You do not want to jeopardize your grade by waiting till the last minute to enroll. I will be at a music conference the weekend of the end of the semester so I will not be available to add last minute/late grades.

A Drum Set for Christmas
Yes, we received a drum set for Christmas. It is an Alesis 5 piece Electric Drum Set. The realy cool thing about it is that it is quiet and has training tools. My husband and I have really enjoyed trying out some basic beat patterns. It is challenging to get both feet going at different times as well as both hands playing on a variety of drum pads or cymbals.
To assist us with learning I did some digging around for website tutorials. Here are three sites you might be interested in checking out if you have a desire to learn drum set. If I find more I will share them with you. If you find something of interest be sure to add a link in the comment section below this post.

Concert Seating Order for Band, Orchestra and Honors Choir:
Meet our New Music Teacher!
Ms. Schemke will be teaming with Mrs. Reed for the rest of this year teaching vocal music for grades 4 & 5. We are all very excited to meet her!
My name is Tammy Schemke, and I graduate from Wayne State University with a degree in vocal education on December 6th. I did my pre-student teaching in Dearborn at Long and Duvall Elementary under Lisa Meyer. I did my full time student teaching in Grosse Pointe at Brownell Middle School under Carolyn Gross. I enjoy teaching students of ALL ages, and give private voice and piano lessons in my spare time. Music and education have always been passions of mine, and at the age of 13 I declared that I would be a music teacher. I have wonderful friends and family that are so supportive and an even more wonderful fiance named Anthony. We met each other in middle school, and my wedding date is October 3rd, 2015! Besides music and wedding planning, I enjoy conversations over good food with good people. I could not be more excited to join the staff at Salina Int. and I look forward to meeting all of the students and staff.

My Parents
Some students had the pleasure of meeting my parents last Friday at Salina Int. School. My parents even participated in some of our music activities during 5th grade music class. After school we met with some teachers to talk about health and essential oils. Here is a photo of us during the presentation. I am blessed with wonderful parents and love them very much.
