Dear MS Band and Strings Students,

When you call my google voice number and leave a message for me you must leave your name before you even begin playing.  If you are using my desk telephone I cannot guess who you might be.  Recordings that do not include a name at the beginning are not counted for a grade.  Please be very careful to remember this important detail.

One more method to share your songs:  VoiceThread!  You can use your iPad, iPhone, laptop to make a video recording of yourself and post it to the band page or orchestra page of this link.  VoiceThreadApp

You can also send recordings via Vocaroo but you have to  be sure to copy the link and send it to my email address: reedc@dearbornschools.org

Strings Students have the wonderful advantage of using Essential Elements Interactive.  They actually get to play along with a recording when making a recording for me.  Band students can use the CD’s that came with the books and play along with that.  How fun!

Your weekly assignment is posted on your class Target song Chart which is linked up on my blog page as well as on student connect.  You will have until Friday at Midnight to make only one recording of the assigned song or songs.

Remember that IF this is a newly assigned song it will be your baseline recording and you are permitted to make mistakes.  If, however, this is the second or third assigned recording of a particular song I am expecting to hear remarkable improvement in your performance of that assigned song.

Be responsible and take the time to review the Target Song Chart and Student Connect Assignments so you are aware of your goals for each week.
