Spring Break Current Event Assignment
Spring Break Current Event Assignment
Due: Monday 4/13/20
Turn in via Google Classroom upload

Overview
Over the past few weeks you have been introduced to several current event news stories that relate to how the current COVID-19 pandemic is affecting economics in the United States and other nations. Your task over break is to find two current event news stories and write one paragraph for each explaining how/why they relate to economics. Make sure to use at least one economic term we have learned for each story.

These stories do not have to be related to the virus if you need a break from virus stuff. They can be articles or videos. As long as they relate to the current world.
Step 1
Find two sources of current event information
Copy and paste the link to those sources into a Google Doc
Step 2
Write one paragraph for each that explains how/why they are important economically speaking.
Use at least one economic term we have used in class for each story and explain how that term applies to this story.
Some suggested sources include The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, CNBC, Yahoo Finance
You can find this assignment on the Google Classroom.

Studio Homework: Questions for Reality Teaser
On Wednesday, we will shoot our reality show teaser. To execute it, we need good interview questions for our hosts. You must submit a question for the hosts, either or paper or by email (rauscha@dearbornschools.org) by the beginning of class on Wednesday. This can be any question that will prompt the hosts to describe what it takes to host the announcements.

Advanced Video: Archetype Introductions
In our exploration of character, we focused on the archetypes proposed by Carl Jung. These are the character types that everyone in our society knows and has a gut reaction to. You can read about them here: Video_ Jungian Archetypes
We also discussed character introductions and how certain images and iconography helps announce these archetypes.
Your assignment (Rubric: Video Rubric_ Archetype Entrance) is to create a video that introduces one of these archetypes. You should use the iconography to make it clear what your archetype is.
Past projects were not completed on schedule. Therefore, meeting schedules is an important part of this assignment. Each phase has a specific deadline. Each school day you are late on each deadline would lose one point. These deadlines account for about 1/3 of the grade.
The groups were assigned and can be seen below.
Trickster: Jacob, Yara, Samer, Tristan
Explorer: Joze, MeiLing, Nader, Ali
Magician: Andre, Adonis, Will
Everyman: Matt, Joseph, Alex, Eman
