Retake Monopolies Questions

Scores on the Monopolies Questions were okay, but I’d prefer awesome. I have created a review video. You must watch the video below, then retake the quiz at this link for full credit.

Don’t forget, you have two other assignments you’re working on, the slideshow is due tomorrow night at 11:59pm (Link on Google Classroom) and the learning objectives are due Sunday night at 11:59pm (Link on Google Classroom).

Homework: Market Failures Slideshow

Due Monday, March 23rd by 11:59pm

You will create a slideshow using Google Slides to define all of the market failures we have learned about. Go into Google Slides to find the template. Change the title of your slideshow to have your name in it.

First, you must name all FIVE failures. Then you must define them. Last, give examples of these failures as they currently exist in the world. You can find this info in Chapter 7 of the textbook (https://www.dropbox.com/s/9bthf7ru7ynw56c/economics-principles-and-practices1.pdf).

You will also be judged on the style of your presentation.

The finished product should be submitted through Google Classroom by no later than 11:59pm on Monday, March 23rd. Submissions sent in past the deadline will have points deducted.

Welcome to Remote Schooling!

While we are not in the school building, we are still having school. I’m sure you have feelings about this, but there a few realities to consider:

  • If we don’t have evidence of learning during this time, expect to lose three weeks of summer break.
  • If we teachers don’t hear from you regularly, we are required to inform the principal.
  • Learning is important.

So how are we going to do this? You have to meet some expectations:

  • Every school day, check Google Classroom at some point.
  • You’ll have a few assignments every week to complete.
  • Your work will affect your overall grade.

Make sure when you talk to classmates, let them know to check their school emails for messages from their teachers. Especially those friends that you know are not the best at doing what they’re supposed to. The nice thing is that you can do almost all of the work on your schedule. Work at night and sleep late. I don’t care. Work in your pajamas.

The first assignment is to go to Google Classroom (Class Code: km4dlyf) and find the question to post an answer to. It’s not a hard question. This is just my way of checking that you’re here and participating.

Also consider signing up for the Remind. Here are the codes – 2nd Hour: 8ef47b, 6th Hour: 77hbga

This virus thing is no joke, but it can be really interesting for us.

Gradebook Issues

UPDATE: All grades are correct and up-to-date.

The first thing I will tell you is that I’m very sorry about this. The gradebook has been very messed up. I am nearly done resolving it.

Firstly, the overall grades are now accurate calculations of your grade. They were not before.

Secondly, the test grades were incorrect. I am rescoring them all by hand. Sixth hour has been rescored. 2nd hour will be rescored by tomorrow morning.

I am very sorry for all of these issues. I also remind you that if you are not happy with your test score, you can retake the test during any lunch on Friday or Monday.
