Good morning everyone. I want to encourage students and parents to set time aside to talk about your student staying focused and the weather begins to break. The warmer it gets outside the easier our students tend to become distracted and with 12 school weeks left its important we work hard until the end. We finished our unit on Napoleon and the French Revolution and Monday will be quizzing on Chapter 23 Sections 3-5. Please make sure you study your vocab and re-read sections 3-5 while reviewing our notes.

Here’s our day today:

Friday-3/21/14:

o       Bell Work-1. What were the three main points of Metternich’s plan for Europe? 2. Why was the Congress of Vienna considered a success? 3. What was the long-term legacy of the Congress of Vienna?

§        SWD analysis of key terms associated with our unit covering Chapter 23 through the manipulating of vocabulary terms in a collaborative activity

§        SWD creation of the effects of the Congress of Vienna and the early establishment of alliance systems in Europe through compiling information in student led guided notes

§        SWD evaluation of the materials covered in Chapter 23 Sections 3-5 through summarizing key information in a structured study guide

o       Language Objective:

§        Students will read and orally match up important vocabulary terms pertaining to our unit covering Chapter 23 by using a vocabulary match-up activity

§        Students will read and record the effects of the Congress of Vienna and the early establishment of alliance systems in Europe by creating student centered guided notes

§        Students will read, and write the key terms and important concepts covered in Chapter 23 Sections 3-5 by completing a structured inquiry based study guide

Today we went career cruising in the library. So each student received a copy of the notes for Chapter 23 Section 4 and it’s their job to read pages 668-671 for tomorrow.
