5th Grade Promotion Car Parade on Tuesday at 9:30am

5th graders are you ready to celebrate your time at Oakman? On Tuesday morning at 9:30am, we are asking all 5th graders and their families to join in our Promotion Car Parade.

Teachers will be lined up in the playground parking lot and will wave and congratulate all passing cars and students. Teachers will be passing out 5th grade promotion certificates and our PTA will be passing out goodie bags to our 5th grade students.

Cars will travel NORTH on Orchard, pass the cafeteria and in and out of the parking lot. Please keep traffic moving and do not get out of your cars.

5th graders may return in the afternoon to pick up their lawn sign which will be displayed in front of the building on Orchard.

AFTER the 5th grade Promotion Car Parade, we are inviting all grades from Pre-K to 4th for their End of Year Celebration Car Parade. Teachers will be in the playground parking lot to wave goodbye and wish everyone a wonderful summer!

Two Weeks of School Left!! 6/1/2020 Online Learning

Dear Oakman Parents and Students,

Hip- Hip- Hooray! We are almost done with the school year. The last 2 weeks of school your child will get fun activities to do, so your child can have time to make-up work from 4/20/2020 to 5/29/2020. Remember all work is on google classroom, clever, and spelling city. The activities will be counted as a grade, so please make sure they are doing them. Also, our last Mystery Science Activity that we started last week. I recommend students to go back and get work that they missed, so they do not have to attend summer school. I have spoken to parents and if I still see no work done they will get a phone call from school faculty members.

Also, I have field trip money that belongs to the students. However, we will have a promotion for our 5th graders, which I would like to ask to give to the school to contribute to the promotion. Every year, students donate money and other treats to PTA to contribute to their promotion. I would like to know if students want their money donated or back. I do not want to use the money, unless I get permission from parents.

5/8/2020 Online Learning

Dear Oakman Parents,

Hope all of our Oakman families is staying safe and healthy. I would like to send out a shout out of HAPPY RAMADAN! Hope all our families and their families are healthy to celebrate Ramadan with their family. Enjoy the time with your children and family!!!

Please checkout your child’s google classroom to see what they have for work. I have attached a link for each subject, so you are able to see their work. Students are to do work daily and turn it in. Please do not have your child to wait until end of week and not have all the work done. They will feel overwhelmed and not want to get all the work done.

I would like to thank the parents that are making sure their child is doing work daily. Your child is doing great and this will help them for next school year. However, I would like to say we have students doing little to no work. I will be calling parents once a week for those that are not working, sending class dojo messages to parents, and sending students messages on google classroom. If your child does work daily they will not feel overwhelmed when they try to get it done all on one day.

Parents please look over the directions with your child to help select their electives for 6th Grade.. I have attached the video and directions on google classroom. You may click on the link!!!
