Back to School!

Welcome Back!

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Srour.  Welcome to my fourth-grade class!  I am very excited to be your teacher for the upcoming school year.  This year has brought a lot of changes and while we will be starting back remotely, I am looking forward to working with you and your family this year.

In the upcoming school year, the safety of our students is our very top priority. Henry Ford Elementary will be implementing many new school-wide safety precautions based on state, local, district, and CDC health guidelines as a part of our district’s Return to School Plan. I will keep you updated on the Return to School Plan as our school works with your family to provide a meaningful learning experience for your child!

This year, our district will be transitioning to a new Learning Management System called Schoology.  I will be sharing information about how your child will be able to log in and access grade-level assignments, resources, and materials next week as a part of our orientation next week.  There will be a materials distribution day for my class on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at 10:15- 11:15 a.m. If I did not schedule an appointment please email me at srours@dearbornschools.org to set up a time.  I will be able to provide you with more information about the new school year as well as materials that we will be using for the start of school.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have at  srours@dearbornschools.org and stay tuned for more information about the first week of school.

I look forward to meeting you soon and wish you and your family a great start to the new school year.

Mrs. Srour

Last Week of Online Learning

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for working with your child during these unprecedented times. I truly appreciate it! The grades, as you know, have changed for the last card marking. The highest grade your child can receive is a M, followed by a P, and the lowest grade is a LP. Please see below what each of these letters mean.

Elementary Assessment and Grading Guidelines for card marking 4:
Meeting or M: regularly submitted work and attended check-ins Accuracy of work assessed on
standards/graded High participation

Progressing or P: Submitted most assignments and attended some of the check-ins

Limited Participation or LP: little or no participation due to circumstances shared with teacher

I will be giving the students this week to submit any late work to higher their grades.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.❤️
