Communication Matrix
All of your students have been utilizing the communication matrix seen below throughout the day. We most frequently use the matrix when the student is trying to communicate a want or need. Staff will typically use a hand-over-hand approach in which we guide your students hand to touch each picture to communicate a request. An example being when Timmy wants to use the laptop Mrs. Anita guides his hand and has him touch the “I”, then “Want”, then “It” while pointing to the laptop.
