Please join us on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 for Open House. We are very excited to show you some of the great work we have been doing in class. You will also have a chance to sign up for a conference in November.

I love to share my books with my students! Having their own books can be very exciting for children. If you would like to buy books for your child to keep at home, just click on the link below to the Scholastic Book Club. You can order books for your children online and they will be sent to Miller. As soon as they arrive, I will send them home with your child. If you prefer to order using a paper flyer and to pay with cash, please send me an email and I will send a form home with your child.

Scholastic has great prices on books and they always include a$1 book each month. It is a fun way to build your child’s love for reading as well as their book collection at home.

The youngest child in each family at Miller will be bringing home an important lunch survey today. It needs to be returned to school tomorrow. If your child brings a survey home, please fill it out and put it back in their blue homework folder as soon as they get home from school. We appreciate your support!

The children will be begin bringing home a monthly calendar today. They will be circling the date with the color their behavior chart card was at the of the day. If they are not on green, please discuss how to make better choices in the future.

They also should read for 20 minutes every day, including weekends. Once they have read, please sign on today’s date.

Thank you for being an active partner in your child’s education! By working together, your child is going to have an amazing year. 🙂

We had a great first week! We will not have school tomorrow and next Monday. I hope you enjoy the long holiday weekend and I’ll see you next Tuesday, September 3rd.

We are going to start the year off with a lot of fun! We will be having Field Day tomorrow! Please have your child wear their Miller shirt and gym shoes for our exciting morning in the sun.

We will be having snack in our class every morning. Miller will have the fruit and veggie grant again this year, so I will let you know as soon as the snack program begins. Until then, please send in a healthy snack with your child. We don’t have lunch until 12:20, so the children are getting hungry well before our lunch time. We have a friend with a nut allergy, so please do not send in any snacks or a lunch with peanut butter or any other nuts. I appreciate your support to keep our friend safe and healthy. Thank you for your support!
