Watch the video overview of life in the 1950s and answer the questions on your own notebook paper (or print up the question sheet). Please bring your answers to class tomorrow.

Friday 2/28/2025

We introduced the new unit on post-war America, then watched an episode of I Love Lucy, focusing on gender roles on the 1950s. Students were also given time to work on Ch. 19 sec. 1 Questions– due Monday.

Thursday 2/27/25

We went over the textbook questions from Monday, ending the Cold War. Students also answered questions over a video on late 1970s and the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Monday 2/24/2024

Students took the Cold War Test and then were given time to work on the Ch. 24 sec. 1 + Ch. 25 sec. 4 Textbook Questions — due on Thursday.

Friday 2/21/2025

We discussed yesterday’s Berlin Wall Stories, and then went over the answers to the Ch. 20 sec. 1 Textbook Questions. We focused on the Cuban Missile Crisis. Students also received a copy of the study guide for Monday’s Cold War Test.

Thursday 2/20/2025

After discussing yesterday’s U-2 Incident document, we watched a video on the history of the Berlin Wall, and then students were given time to complete the Berlin Wall Stories questions.

Tuesday 2/18/2025

We went over the answers to Friday’s Arms Race handout. Students were then given time to work on the U-2 Incident primary document and the Ch. 20 sec. 1 Textbook Questions– due on Thursday.

Friday 2/14/2025

The Ch. 18 sec. 3-4 Textbook Questions were checked and discussed. Students also completed handouts over McCarthyism and the Arms Race.

Tuesday 2/11/2025

Students completed an introduction to the Red Scare and then watched a clip introducing McCarthyism. Students were then given time to work on the Ch. 18 sec. 3-4 Textbook Questions — due on Thursday.

Friday 2/7/2025

We finished up the video over the Korean War Stories and then went over the Ch. 18 sec. 2 Answers. Students also answered questions over General MacArthur’s Farewell Speech.
