P.E. Class for the Week of Sept 30th-Oct 4th

This week, I will continue to have all of my classes run the track outside, weather permitting. The kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes will only run during one of their classes this week. I will be assessing all of the classes this week on their run. The Kindergarten-3rd grade classes will be assessed on the 1/2 mile run and the 4th and 5th grade classes will be assessed on the 1 mile run. During the second class of the week, my kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes will continue to learn and practice soccer skills.

September 24

P.E. Class for the Week of Sept 23rd-27th

This week, all of my classes K-5th grade will go outside to the track to run during one of their classes. The Kindergarten-3rd grade classes will run 2 laps, which is a 1/2 mile. The 4th and 5th grade classes will run 4 laps, which is 1 mile. I will plan to assess my 3-5th graders on their run this week. I will also asses them on the run the next two weeks and I will use their best time as their grade on their report card. During the second class of the week and at the end of the class for the classes that see me once a week, they will all continue to practice soccer skills.

September 17

P.E. Class for the Week of Sept 16th-20th

This week, I will continue to work on soccer skills with all of my classes kindergarten-5th grade. The main skills I will focus on will be the foot dribble, trapping, changing directions, and passing. I have a variety of drills and games that I will use to help my students practice these skills.

I will also have my 3rd-5th grade students go outside at the start of one of their classes to run the 1/2 mile run. This will help them to get ready for their cardiovascular endurance assessment and it will help the 4th and 5th graders to practice and build their endurance for the Cirpriano Memorial Run. The run will be at Ford Field Park on Friday, October 11th. I will hand out permission slips to Any 4th and 5th grade student that would like to participate in the run. They need to be returned with $3, by Wednesday, October 2nd.

September 10

P.E. Class for the Week of Sept 9th-13th

This week, I will focus on teaching my students class routines, skills, and games that I will use throughout the school year. For example, I will teach the students a variety of stretches and exercises at their floor spots. Next, they will practice running inside and outside of the school. Finally, they will learn and practice some of the tagging and throwing games I use. These will be routines, skills, and games that all of my grades will perform to start the school year. There are many classes that I have only seen one or two times, because of the short weeks we had to start the school year. This means it will still take me this week to get them all to learn these skills and routines. I will plan to start my soccer unit with some of my classes this week, but many of them will not start soccer until next week.

Physical Education Class 2019-2020

Hello,

I would like to welcome students and parents to the 2019 – 2020 school year.  I hope that students will have a great experience in Physical Education class this year. We will do a variety of things in my class throughout the school year to help students learn how to stay fit and have fun.

This year I will see the 1st and 2nd grade classes one time a week for forty five minutes and I will see the Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes twice a week for 45 minutes.

The first time I see all of my classes I will spend the majority of time going over the rules and expectations for the year. The next two classes for the lower elementary classes (Kindergarten – 2nd grade) I will spend time going over stretches, exercises, red line exercises, and some tagging games that I will play during the year. The next two classes for the upper elementary classes (3rd – 5th grade) I will spend time going over stretches, exercises, running, and a few games that I will play throughout the school year.

The third week for all classes will consist of starting our soccer unit with all classes. This unit will continue for just over a month.  I will also fit in running during almost every class to get my kindergarten-2nd grade students ready for their 1/2 mile run test and my 3rd – 5th grade students ready for their 1 mile run test .   I will also work on getting the 4th and 5th grade students ready for the Cipriano Run, which will be held on Friday, Oct 11th at Ford Field in Dearborn.  There will be more information to follow about the run in the near future.
