December 17
The retake for the last test will be tomorrow after school. Students will need to understand “How we can capture and transform the work around us to meet our needs.” This was the unit challenge. This was the topic of the ILearn test, constructive response test and the group presentation. Students should understand how wind or water can be used to produce electricity. Students should understand how potential and kinetic energy as well as input and output.
Friday, December 6th
The final “Off the Grid” test will be on Tuesday. Students should review study guide as well as information in thier Interactive Science Notebook. The test has 12 multiple choice questions, on the computer as well as some graphs, models and constructed response questions. Today in class, the study guide was reviewed.
December 4, 2019
Students will be presenting their GoogleSlides tomorrow. Students should practice their presentations at home.
Study Guide for Unit test is due on Friday. The test will be on Tuesday.
The 3-2-1 article summary is due on Friday.

Students continued working in groups today to complete their final presentations. For homework, students should share their presentations to someone at home. Students should be able to explain “How we can capture and transform energy from the world around us to help meet our needs.” Students should have models included in their googleslides to help them explain their thinking.
Students also have a 3-2-1 article summary due on Friday. This was assigned 2 weeks ago. The article for each class are below:
2nd Hour- Crazy Putty
3rd Hour- Cake Chemist
4th Hour- Defying Gravity
5th Hour- Earth Rocks
6th Hour- Spot Check

Students have been working on presentations as an ending to the “Off the Grid” unit. Groups of 3-4 students are answering the following question: How can we capture and transform energy from the world around us to help meet our needs. Students are using the following two documents to assist them.
