Dear Snow Families,
This year has flown by so quickly!
Our staff, our students, our PTA and our parent community have been so helpful. We are so very proud of our school and have truly enjoyed the partnership and positive collaboration.
Each child is precious and each face is loved and cared for by all of us. When your child succeeds, we are so thrilled, and when he/she struggles, we work together as a team to improve the situation.
We have done our best to make this year a year of growth, higher achievement and a safe and happy environment for all. Teachers are working to increase the rigor in instruction while differentiating for students as needed, we have implemented PlayWorks to develop sportsmanship and social skills and we have started Unified to support inclusion and leadership. We are happy to report that our hard work has paid off! Our Snow Overall School Index Score as reported by the state of Michigan has climbed from 72.58 to 92.63! Snow is soaring!
To help our students continue to make progress and avoid summer loss, we are asking all Snow students to read over the summer and practice math. Our Snow Summer Challenge is for every student to do iReady for an hour per week and Zearn for one hour per week as well. Instructions will be sent home today.
Again, on behalf of the Snow Staff, we want to express our appreciation for your efforts to support our initiatives. We look forward to seeing you all next fall to begin another successful school year together.
We wish you all a wonderful summer, and we hope that you will always encourage your children to practice the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Leadership- always!

We’re just days away from the annual Snow School Picnic; this Friday from 5-8pm.
All students who attend will be registered to win a free bike (two students/grade) donated by PTA. We also have bounce houses, face painters & a Pie throw activity.
We are asking for donations and volunteers through our signup genius link:
If you can donate baked goods, there will be a rack outside the office on Friday morning. All desserts are free to families so we appreciate your donation! The PTA will provide hot dogs, pizza, chips & drinks.
Lastly, we have over 15+ Raffle baskets filled with great gifts for our kids. We couldn’t have done this without the help from our teachers and Snow families — thank you!
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Friday!
Dear Snow Parents,
We are excited to announce that for the 2019-2020 school year, Snow Elementary will have a Young Fives Kindergarten!
Please let your friends and family know!

Please spread the word!

Due to the weather, our field trip to the Detroit Zoo was cancelled. Unfortunately, we will not be able to make this field trip up. Thank you for the sack lunches. We had a picnic in our classroom.
Dear Snow Families,
In efforts to maintain a safe environment for our students, I am writing this letter to inform you about
some issues we are experiencing during drop off and pick up times in the parking lot. Student safety is a
If you are dropping off your child by way of the parking lot, please park in a spot and walk your child to
the door. If you choose to not park, please wait in the drop off line with patience. We are noticing cars
are speeding, and cars not waiting in line- but driving around the vehicle in front of them.
As you drop off or pick up your child, please follow these guidelines:
Do not park in handicap spots without a sticker or tag
Double parking is not permitted
Drop off in a single file line and use patience to wait for your turn
When dropping off, please pull up to the first cone so traffic does not get too back up
Students should cross at the crosswalk with the crossing guard
The bus loading zone is for busses only
Allowing yourself 10 extra minutes for drop off and pick up will alleviate much of the mad rush. Creating
a meeting spot with your child is a great way to be safe and time efficient. Thank you in advance for
ensuring our students are safe.
