Ceramics Courses: All levels of skill i.e. beginning, intermediate and advanced are taught and students are encouraged to explore clay as an art form. Students learn the basic characteristics of clay and how to form objects using the main hand building techniques-pinch, coil and slab construction. The advanced students learn about wheel throwing and have opportunities to practice newly gained skills. Students will learn how clay surfaces are finished, including the mixing and application of glazes and various firing methods. Advanced students will concentrate on more complex and innovative concepts.
