OPTIONAL HOMEWORK:

(Optional means you don’t HAVE to do this homework.  You really SHOULD do this homework if you need to work on your reading level.)

Use the internet to visit the website that was on the chalkboard.

I JUST tried the website, and it’s working fine.  I know some of the links might not work, but keep clicking and you’ll find many links that do work.

Bring me PROOF!

Examples of proof:

  • e-mail me a screen shot or pic of something you tried
  • e-mail me a summary of some of the things you learned
  • write a summary of some of the things you learned (on loose leaf)

HW:

  1. Carefully read the TITANIC article.
  2. Make THREE flash cards.  Make them NICE. STUDY them.

The first card must be “deteriorating”.

The second card must be “prominent”.

The third card can be any other word from the TITANIC article.  Try to challenge yourself and pick a word you do NOT know.

Each flashcard should have the word on the front and a definition, sentence, and picture on back.

HINT: There will probably be a quiz about the TITANIC article.  Someday.  Evil laugh.

HW:

  • Show your portfolio to mom or dad.
  • Ask for a signature on the bottom of the final report page.
  • Bring the WHOLE portfolio back to class on Thursday.

EASY!!!

If this homework is too easy for you, you could challenge yourself by doing a little extra.  Maybe you could write a paragraph on loose leaf about which BW or HW or CW or QUIZ or TEST or any assignment from report card 2 was your favorite and why.  Or maybe you could look through each week in your planner and choose one of the weekly words and make a flash card.  I don’t know!  Just some ideas.

I AM THANKFUL I’M A TEACHER.

I AM THANKFUL I’M A TEACHER AT LOWREY SCHOOL.

I AM THANKFUL I’M A TEACHER AT LOWREY SCHOOL AND THAT YOU ARE MY STUDENT.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

When you don’t bring a pencil to class, you can’t write your name on your paper.

When you can’t write your name on your paper, you make your teacher’s face turn red.

The police find you wearing leaves on your head at Hemlock Park in the middle of the night.

Fill in the missing cause and effect steps for extra credit or a polar point.  On loose leaf.  Turn  it in tomorrow.

UPDATE:

4th hour and 6th hour grades are not quite done yet.

Your StudentConnect account may not be 100% accurate.

NO HOMEWORK TONIGHT … BUT …

Report Card #2 is ending in a few short days.

Please work on any missing assignments before it’s too late.

The best way to see your missing assignments is to check your progress report or log into StudentConnect.

HW:

VERBS sheet

The actual title is “FIX YOUR WAGON featuring Squirmy and Aunt Betty”.

READ the whole page first. Read carefully.

Then TRY it!

HW:

Composition Book page #6

Dogs versus Cats

Which one is better?

There are MANY ways you could complete this homework.  Here are just a few ideas:

  • Create a T-chart with Dogs on one side and Cats on the other. List bullets for each then declare the winner.
  • SAR – Write one good paragraph.
  • Write about an actual dog or cat that you have had as a pet.
  • VENN diagram to compare and contrast Dogs and Cats and then declare the winner at the bottom.  (HINT: I don’t love this idea because page #5 is already a VENN diagram.)

HW:

“Colleges Are Watching Your Social Media”

  • Finish reading the article.
  • All three pages must be annotated (Talk to the Text).
  • Complete the QUIZ using QAR.
