I don’t know why it keeps flipping sideways. Just turn your head to read it.
HW:
COMPOSITION BOOK PAGE #5
S.A.R.
“Who will win Super Bowl 50?”
Here is the basic pattern you should follow:
I predict the ______________ (make sure you write the FULL team name in the blank) will win Super Bowl 50. The first reason they will win is ______________________. (give evidence from the article for this blank then explain your evidence a little bit) Another reason that the ______________ will win is _____________________ . (give evidence from the article for this bank then explain a little bit) These reasons support my prediction that the ______________ will win the Super Bowl on Sunday.
HINT: This pattern is a little boring. If you are a good writer, you are welcome to write using your own style as long as you follow the basic S.A.R. pattern.
COUNTER ARGUMENT:
Some say that the ______________ will win the Super Bowl because _____________________. It’s true that the ______________ are a good team, BUT there is no way they can win because ______________. The ______________ are clearly a much better team.
Your counter argument should come after reason #2 but before your final restate.

What’s the opposite of ground? SKY.
What’s the opposite of hog? HAWK.
HINT: Coloring a whole SKETCH sheet to make the paper a different color is a waste of your time and does NOT help to raise your reading level. This is just an example. There are many ways to waste your time and NOT raise your reading level. Try to avoid those kind of activities if you want extra credit.
HERE IS THE CORRECT FINAL PARAGRAPH:
Will there be six more weeks of winter? That is exactly what one Pennsylvania groundhog announces each year on February 2. Groundhog Day is a poopular American tradition that probably came from Europe. If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, he expects six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see it, he predicts an early spring. Did you know that Phil is quite famous? He met President Reagan and has appeared on Oprah!
Actually there is a NEW error. I thought it was funny.
EXTRA CREDIT:
So. Will we have six more weeks of winter or not?

“THE WORLD IS NOT A PLEASANT PLACE TO BE” by Nikki Giovanni
the world is not a pleasant place
to be without
someone to hold and be held by
a river would stop
its flow if only
a stream were there
to recieve it
an ocean would never laugh
if clouds weren’t there
to kiss her tears
the world is not
a pleasant place to be without
someone
In your opinion, why did the author give a different shape (or form) to the first and last stanzas?
Yes. I misspelled a word. Most 7th graders misspell this word. Can you edit my mistake?
