“Hey bro!” said George.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Nothing really, I just want to swim already!” said George.

“Yeah. Me too … and today is the perfect day to swim so it’s going to be awesome!” said Joe.

They went to the backyard to the in-ground pool and dived in.

“This water is boiling too!” said George. “You could cook carrots in this pool!”

George climbed up the ladder and set Joe’s hot tub for “FREEZING.”

“Ahhhh that’s what I’m talking about!” sighed George as he sank into the icy water.

“I know what you mean,” said Joe. “This water is amazing and refreshing!”

“Yeah but I’m suddenly very hungry so let’s order some food,” said Joe.

“Yea, me too so let’s get pizza, but you’re going to buy it.”

“Deal, but we get to play your White Ops 7 game while we wait.”

The food was ready and the pizza shop was only one block away, but neither of them wanted to go outside in the scorching weather.

“Since I bought the food then you have to go get it,” said Joe.

“Wow! What a rude way to treat your guests,” said George, “but I’m using your electric scooter to get to the pizza shop! Laters. Peace.”

TODAY’S PACKET WORK:

#8 Predict how Buck will act when he is released from the shed. Use at least TWO details from the passage to support your answer.

USE C.E.R. FORMAT!

Buck will attack any human or other creature that attempts to control or mistreat him in any way. The passage says that he has never been “so ______________  treated” (London, page 5). “Vilely” means _____________________, so of course the dog will fight back from that. Also, the reader knows that the dog has attacked a man once already – it says in paragraph 6 ” _____________________” (London, page 6). This proves that the dog  _____________________. There is no question that Buck will ______________ anyone or anything that attempts to control him.
