MUST BE DONE IN ORDER!

VQFT

Take out an old ELA paper from your folder/binder. Change some of the words. Add better/bigger words. Fix it up! Add to it. Rewrite it with VERY nice handwriting. Add some color. Add graphics/pictures/illustrations. Your NEW paper should look amazing. The new one and the old one must be stapled together.

VQFT

You must have the text for Maniac (pages 6 and 7).

Highlight the following:

  • “Jeffrey went right on screaming, his face bright red by now,”
  • “everybody could see that this wasn’t part of the show at all,”
  • “No one knew it then, but it was the birth scream of a legend.”

Write the question on loose leaf then answer.

QUESTION: Based on your highlighting, what is the THEME of the text?

A The theme of the text is that parents are annoying, but they do love their children.

B The theme of the text is aunts and uncles hate each other.

C The theme of the Maniac Magee text is that it’s ok to be a little weird.

VQFT

On a fresh sheet of loose leaf paper, neatly list the ingredients of a quesadilla.

VQFT

Sit alone. No one should be near you. Keep all your work visible so the teacher can check it. Keep iBlog open. You may use headphones.

EXIT TICKET

[loose leaf] What did Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan have two of?

BW:

A+ = If you have VERY VERY VERY NICE handwriting, neatly copy the report card #1 self sheet on loose leaf.

B = Ask the teacher to print the report card #1 self sheet for you.

CW1:

Take your time and fill out the report card #1 self sheet.

BE HONEST ABOUT YOURSELF!

You MUST add this sheet to your portfolio. It should be on TOP of your stack of papers. Look over your complete portfolio. Make sure you’re ready to show it to your parents.

Remember that your portfolio must be in chronological order if you want an A+.

CW2:

CW3:

IF YOU HAVE ALL YOUR OTHER WORK DONE …

Work on IXL. I am trusting you to choose the right level to work on. HOW MANY MINUTES SHOULD YOU DO ON IXL? I am trusting you to decide that. WHAT SHOULD MY IXL SCORE BE? I am trusting you to decide that. AM I ALLOWED TO USE HEADPHONES? Yes.

CW4:

Choose something quiet to work on.

5th HOUR:

  • 3 pp or 3 pieces of candy = Take everything off top of chromecart and organize it then have quiet free time. (drop name in Happy Birthday box)
  • 3 pp or 3 pieces of candy = Make sure all the books in Mr. Dobert’s library are neatly facing the same direction then have quiet free time. (drop name in Halloween pretzel jar)

YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY READ PAGES 6 AND 7 BEFORE YOU WRITE THE CER.

Mister Dobert’s CER needs a lot of help!

Trouble at home caused Maniac to freak out during the music concert. In the text it, “Around the time Jeffrey arrived, the stopped talking to each other” (author, page 4). This evidence is important because it indicated that Maniac’s aunt an uncle (Maniac’s parents were dead) did not like each other. Furthermood, the state states, “‘Talk! Talk, will ya! Talk! Talk! Talk!'” (Dobert, page 7). Clearly Maniac is angry because he didn’t hated the music in the concert. This evidence shows why Maniac freaked out.
