Finish your BW. DROP IT IN THE BIN AT THE END OF CLASS. Make sure your HW is well done. If you made a comic strip, you must color code. Please look at Mr. Dobert’s example on the chalkboard. DROP YOUR HW IN THE BIN AT THE END OF CLASS. Choose 5 roots from WRITE SOURCE page 569. Study them. Create an amazing Google slides presentation for your 5 roots. Mr. Dobert has seen MANY Google slide shows, so your presentation must be very impressive with cool graphics and text if you want an A+. DO NOT SEND THE GOOGLE SLIDE SHOW TO MR. DOBERT. Just be ready to show it on your chromebook. You should work on this the whole hour. You may use headphones. You may have one bathroom break and 10 minutes of free time at the end of class. If you REALLY want to leave your assigned seat and work VERY QUIETLY with a partner, drop your name into the Happy Birthday box.

Choose a story or article to read from ACTION magazine or SCOPE magazine. SCOPE magazine is a higher reading level so your score will PROBABLY be higher. You must read the COMPLETE passage from start to finish. Once you are done reading, write your name on a mini scrap then drop the paper into the Happy Birthday box. The teacher will pull names from the box and quiz students. If you pass the quiz, you may have quiet free time while others are being quizzed. While you’re waiting please do some IXL or other quiet ELA activity. You may use headphones if you’re working on IXL.


EXCEPT FIRST HOUR! First hour did NOT receive a good sub report. First hour students may NOT have any free time today, even if they pass the reading quiz.

If you MUST MUST MUST have an A+ … On a half sheet of computer printer paper, create a comic strip SIMILAR to the one on the top of the “Tree Knowledge” paper.

On a fresh sheet of loose leaf, please WRITE important/interesting facts and details about the items while you shop. You may use bullets. If you are doing this the whole hour, you will not have to write the CER.

You may “go shopping” with a partner and VERY QUIETLY discuss the amazing items and prices you are finding.

Once you are done shopping, choose ONE item and WRITE a CER about it.
