This is how you should start your paragraph (claim):
“Before he was kidnapped, Buck lived a comfortable and confident life.”
EVIDENCE 1: paragraph 2 “Buck imagined was merely a stroll”
REASONING: Buck was used to taking enjoyable walks with the Judge and the boys.
EVIDENCE 2: paragraph 5 “in his pride believing that to intimate was to command”
REASONING: Buck could command others with just a look.
EVIDENCE 3: paragraph 6 “unbridled anger of a kidnapped king”
REASONING: Buck believed he was royalty and his rage was because he couldn’t believe anyone would dare to kidnap a king.
EVIDENCE 4: paragraph 17 “Several times during the night he sprang to his feet when the shed door rattled open, expecting to see the Judge, or the boys at least.”
REASONING: Buck had a very good relationship with the Judge and the boys and was happy when he saw them.
When you write your answer, you should probably use EVIDENCE 1 OR 4 to prove Buck’s life was comfortable and EVIDENCE 2 AND 3 to prove Buck’s life was confident.
