“Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto

THIS PROJECT IS AT LEAST 50 POINTS!

On a large piece of poster paper, create a plot shape for the story.

GOOD: Neatly draw a mountain shape.

BETTER: Neatly draw something different that has the same shape as a mountain.

BEST: Neatly draw a plot shape that MATCHES something IN THE STORY.

  • Label titles for each part of the mountain.
  • Include details from the story, “Seventh Grade”. HINT: Use bullets.
    • 1 or 2 bullets for Exposition
    • 2 or 3 bullets for Rising Action
    • 1 for Climax
    • 1 or 2 for Falling Action
    • 1 for Resolution
  • You must write complete sentences for each bullet.
  • Spelling counts.
  • Neatness counts.
  • Color

HINT: You must do a rough draft on loose leaf first if you want full points! (That was today’s bell work.)

BONUS: Only the VERY BEST posters will be put on display in the hallway. If yours is chosen, you will automatically earn +5 extra credit and be allowed to choose any ticket. Take your time and do your best work.
