Every Monday, we have been SSR (silent sustained reading) our library books for eleven minutes. These are the CW’s so far …
- Write three things you remember from your reading (the book must be shut).
- Make a bullet list of words you don’t know then choose one and make a flash card. Tape the card at the bottom of the loose leaf.
- Copy a small section from your library book then VISUALIZE (draw a pic to make the text).
- Write about things you would add to or delete from the book if you were the author.
- Write a paragraph to explain why you did NOT finish reading your entire library book.
- Fold a piece of computer printer paper like a book then design and color a NEW cover for your book. Write a summary on the back – in your own words.
- Neatly list the FULL title and author of your library book 7 times.
- Choose ONE chapter to really study. Take notes on loose leaf. The teacher will be allowed to ask you ANYTHING about that chapter.
