Allowing a variety of animals in businesses could create a great deal of chaos. Children and even adults would be tempted to approach a Capuchin monkey or any other strange or wild animal and attempt to pet and touch it, creating a ruckus and perhaps stimulating a larger crowd to surround it. The animals could become loud and noisy and destroy things around them (source #3). This would be a huge disturbance to business owners and to those patrons who are present. In addition, an abrupt movement or noise could trigger that wild animal to react unexpectedly and potentially harm someone. According to the article New Service Animal Rules, “Dogs and miniature horses have been used as pets for hundreds of years. They listen to commands…these animals can be trusted by pet owners and business owners.” It is in the best interest of both the home and business owners to uphold this new rule.
