Today was our last day of school! I’ll miss my 6th graders terribly but I know you will do amazing things next year (and beyond!).

Here are the summer learning requirements to be prepared for Language Arts in the Fall.

Incoming 6th Graders AND 7th graders:

Read 3-5 novels over the summer (no graphic novels). Be prepared to do a book talk when you arrive in the Fall! This won’t be due on the first day but if you would like to get a head start on the assignment I attached the directions and rubric!

Books I am still missing (that I know of!):  Dork Diaries #9 & #11 – hard cover, 5 Judy Moody books (numbers unknown), Dear Dumb Diary #2, Scarlett (Cinder #2).  ALL books are labeled with my name either on the edges of the pages or on a sticker that says “This book belongs to Mrs. Dailing. Please return as soon as possible!” located on the front cover. Thank you for those who have helped locate the other lost books! 🙂

Today was our End of Year PBIS Celebration where the students were able to view an encore performance of the talent show!  The students in the show worked amazingly hard and should be extremely proud of themselves! Great job!

Today we were given our portfolios to take home and updated our My Learning Plans online with accurate Spring NWEA data and Summer Learning Goals.

WE ARE WATCHING THE GIVER TOMORROW!! If you owe me a permission slip you must have it signed by the beginning of class tomorrow or you will not be able to watch it with us, don’t forget!

NO LATE/MISSING WORK will be accepted past TODAY, Monday, June 11th (with the exception of my Block 1 who did not get the opportunity to turn in late work due to the Talent Show).  Unfortunately, many students chose to play games when they were finished with their goals instead of working on late or missing work when they had plenty of time to get it done. I will NOT make exceptions and they were warned about this in class.
