Students finished their City Map Projects in class today. Afterwords, they received 2 review assignments for the Unit 1 Test – a Khan Academy assignment and a review guide. Review guide is due tomorrow and Khan is due Friday at 11:59! Review guide is linked below.

Today students continued working on their in-class project. There will be a short amount of time at the beginning of the hour tomorrow to finish before we begin reviewing for Friday’s Unit 1 Test.

After reviewing yesterday’s homework answers, students began working on their Dearbornville City Map Project. The directions/questions are linked below. This was collected before students left the classroom and will be handed back tomorrow to finish.

Today students did a mini-investigation to develop a method/formula to find the coordinate point in the middle of a line segment (midpoint). Notes are linked below. Afterwords, they had a chance to finish last Friday’s Mall Map assignment (due @ end of hour) and today’s assignment practicing the midpoint formula. Today’s worksheet is homework if not finished in class and is linked below.

After going over yesterday’s assignment answers (#’s 1-4), students were given the Mall Map Distance Formula activity to work on in class. The activity is linked below and is homework if not finished.

After reviewing yesterday’s notes on distance formula with a practice problem, students received an application of the distance formula worksheet that leveled up in difficulty as they worked through the problems. The worksheet is linked below.

Tuesday 9/12 – Today students signed up for their Khan Academy classes on the computers. They did a few review assignments on points, line, planes, rays and segments to help prepare for tomorrow’s quiz.

Monday 9/11 – After reviewing the answers to Friday’s assignment (MATH worksheet), students were given a set of parameters to follow to construct a plane with lines, rays and segments. They then answered some follow-up questions based on their models.

Friday 9/9 – Finished the vocab. notes and examples. Students had time to work on their packet questions and the MATH worksheet. Finish both worksheets for homework if not done in class. Have a great weekend! Reminder : Quiz on applying the vocab. words is next Wednesday (9/13)!
Thursday 9/7 – First day of math! Today students cut out a net of a cube and put it together to represent points, lines and planes. They answered some questions regarding their cubes and we started our vocab. notes afterwords.
Wednesday 9/6 – Group norms activity. Cup stacking team-building activity.
Tuesday 9/5 – Welcome back! Syllabus
School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Continue reading
