Today students watched a video on Jeffrey Dahmer and completed an exit ticket. (I had a sub.)
We will be starting presentations on Monday. Remember to share your google slides with me so I can comment on it and you can fix items!
Today we started a group serial killer project. Students will research a known serial killer and present the information to class. Using this information and items from the other groups, students will come up with generalizations on who might become a serial killer (aka a profile).
PROJECTS ARE SUMMATIVE and presentations will begin on Monday, April 27th.
DNA test retakes are this week after school. To be eligible, students need to have completed a study guide prior to the original test.
Today we played Kahoot in class for extra credit.

Study guides are due tomorrow also…
There will be a DNA test on Tuesday of next week. Students received a study guide in class today, that is due on the day of the test. I will upload the study guide this weekend.
Yesterday we went over vocabulary related to the topic of RFLP (Restrictive Fragment Length Polymorphism). Today we took notes on the process and did an in class activity to simulate the process.
We reviewed the steps involved in extracting DNA from a strawberry using this youtube video clip. We also reviewed for a short quiz tomorrow on DNA structure.
Today we extracted DNA from strawberries. Most students got good results from the experiment. Students worked on analysis questions in groups.
