Today we dusted for fingerprints in class. Here is the powerpoint directions that went along with the lab.
For the past 2 days we have been working on a data collection and graphing activity involving fingerprints. Students analyzed their own prints, collected class data, and then all of the forensic science class’ data. They have compiled them into data tables, bar graphs, and pie charts. The assignment is due THURSDAY. No more time in class will be given to work on this.
Today in class we started guided notes on fingerprints. Students finished rolling their prints in class if they didn’t finish yesterday. We will be using the notes and prints to help in fingerprint identification.
Today student’s practiced rolling their own fingerprints (if they had their permission form turned in) and then rolled them on a 10 print card. We will use these to identify the types of prints as the days go on…

Today we went over the case study assignment, reviewing physical evidence, circumstantial evidence, class evidence, and individual evidence.
Remember that tomorrow there is a quiz on the vocabulary and something like the article. You will be turning in your vocab foldable and your article.
Annotated Wood Chipper Murder Article
Click on the link for an annotated version of the article we read in class. It has the physical evidence and circumstantial evidence marked. The next question is the physical evidence CLASS evidence or INDIVIDUAL evidence?

QUIZ ON THURSDAY!
Today we did the vocab zip around again. The class with the quickest time will get bonus points on their quiz on Thursday.
We also read this case study. Richard Crafts Case Study
Students were asked to identify different types of physical evidence and circumstantial evidence in the case. They were also asked to determine whether it was a criminal trial or civil trial, and a felony or misdemeanor.
Just a reminder that we will be having a quiz on Thursday. Part of it will be vocabulary matching, like in your foldable. The foldable will also be due on this day.
Today in class we talked about the lunar eclipse from last night, did a vocabulary zip around activity, and completed an activity about observation.
