Plus:

  • So far, so good, on the food drive 🙂  We have a total of 81 cans so far.  Our goal is 120 – I know we can do it!!!  Thanks to everyone who has donated so far and if you haven’t, please consider doing so.  The food drive goes until next Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
  • We had a great time on our field trip last Friday to the Michigan Science Center!! Thank you for helping that trip be successful – I know there wasn’t a whole lot of time for permission slips and money to be turned in.

We Voted!!

We had an extremely important election today in school 🙂

Turkey

The students and I were chatting about their turkeys this morning.  Some of them asked me if I could show them the examples again.  I thought I would post these so you have some examples, too.  There are lots more pictures on my blog from previous years if you just search “turkey” (the search button is in the top, right corner) – or you could always google “turkey disguise” if you need some inspiration 🙂

Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading

Updates :)

  • Tomorrow is a 1/2 day of school, so students will be dismissed at 11:45.
  • Tomorrow is also the last day for students to turn in their October reading calendars (the one where they colored the cats). This is entered as a grade in gradebook.  They needed to read at least 21 days in October to earn their points and pizza certificate.
  • November reading calendars came home on Tuesday.  Students should color the hat on every night that they read for at least 20 minutes. Again, they must have at least 21 hats colored to earn their points and certificate at the end of the month.
  • Since I was trained over the summer in Project Lead the Way curriculum, we have an opportunity for a field trip with Ms. Martin’s class to the Michigan Science Center next week.  We are trying to secure a bus before I can confirm that we are going for sure.  The cost will be around $11. Chaperones have already been taken care of. The Science Center will only allow us to have 2 per classroom.  We are trying very hard to confirm this by tomorrow so I can send home the permission slip asap. Obviously, I will let you know when I know for sure.
