THIS IS OUR LAST WEEK OF TEACHING NEW MATERIAL!!! THE QUIZZES FOR THIS WEEK ARE DUE SUNDAY, JUNE 7TH; QUIZZES 91-100 and 101-110 ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH; ALL OTHER QUIZZES ARE CLOSED AS OF MAY 31 AT 11 PM.

STUDENTS CAN PICK UP THEIR LOCKER ITEMS ON THURSDAY 6/4 FROM 10-2; I WILL BE THERE, ALONG WITH OTHER 6TH GRADE TEACHERS, TO HAND THINGS OUT. PLEASE BRING LIBRARY BOOKS IF YOU HAVE THEM AT HOME! YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CHROMEBOOKS!!

NEW BIG BLUE BUTTON (LIVE MEETING) SCHEDULE BELOW:

1st block (1st/3rd hours): MON AND WED 2:30-3:15

2nd block (4th/5th hours): TUE AND THUR 2:30-3:15

3rd block (7th/8th hours): TUE AND THUR 12:20-1:05

Students are free to attend ANY two sessions they would like!! Monday and Tuesday discuss the same material, and Wednesday and Thursday discuss the same material.

The district is working on improving Big Blue Button, the meetings feature in iLearn. We are trying out best this week to test the platform and see where the issues are.

Monday, April 13th

Welcome back! Although we are still home, I hope everyone had a restful break 🙂

It is my understanding we will transition to learning NEW MATERIAL by April 28th. For this week, we will FINISH UP the items currently posted in Google Classroom.

There is a NEW Reading Journal in Google classroom this week!

Please take the Greek Roots Quiz in Google Classroom (Summative Quiz #2) if it isn’t completed.

I will post a NEW Greek Roots sheet on April 28th!

This week, students will need to complete: the NEW Reading journal (due 4/20), and ANY OTHER WORK THAT HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED since we went to remote learning. A work list will be posted in Google Classroom.

In the coming weeks, students will complete activities in Google Classroom (including taking notes, completing task cards, doing Google Slides, and using coding to practice ELA skills. We will continue with 15-20 minutes of daily reading, reading journals, and IXL skills practice. Additional literacy activities will be added and explained as needed.
