LA 3 2nd/5th Homework
Finish reading and adding events to the Hero Steps scaffold that you received in class today. (Also, embedded below for you to print or create one on loose leaf) You need to read through the first chunk: pgs. 1064-69 for Friday.
2nd hour will wrap up the story on Friday, but 5th hour needs to complete the WHOLE story and scaffold as you have a PEP ASSEMBLY on Friday and won’t have class time.
A.O.W. #1 Due: by Monday 9-26-16
PRINT the attached article and follow the directions to annotate and complete the scaffold (CER+Craft). We practiced this format in class last week. You must use INK. If you need a resource for TONE or TECHNIQUE, go to the resource tab on this blog. You may view these student-generated lists or print them to keep in your folder.

Bring Covered Textbooks Monday
ALL STUDENTS–Please bring covered textbooks on Monday to begin the first literature unit.
LA3 worked on presenting Book Talks Thursday/Friday and will continue next week to work in more presentations. In addition, they learned the process of doing annotation and C.E.R. + Author’s Craft using a sample article in order to prepare for the Article of the Week (AOW). These will begin next week; posting will begin on Wednesday.
Honors learned the process of Socratic Seminar for deeper discourse and practiced the steps by looking at text that related to the novel Catcher in the Rye. They also discussed characters and thematic ideas with their peers in order to prep for the in class essay today. Honors will learn the AOW process next week.
2nd/5th Book Talk Due: Thursday!
Please open and read the following to prepare for your presentation. We worked on the materials in class, but you may need to finish up at home. PRINT the RUBRIC and attach to your visual aid for Extra credit 🙂

Please finish drafting your book summary and evaluative review as well as gather the MLA citation information that we worked in class today. I will give you the card tomorrow to transfer the information and we will work on the visual aid.
Sophomore Foot due Tuesday!
All students-–Please bring your designed foot to class. It will be collected at the beginning of class and should have complete name and year of graduation on the BACK.
LA3 students--Bring Summer Book choice MLA citation information (hours 2 and 5). Please make sure you have the following:

Sophomore Foot

Sophomore Goal Narrative is due tomorrow. We worked on brainstorming, pre-writing, drafting in class today, using the attached sheet. Please finish your revisions and type of handwrite in ink a final copy. Staple the pre-writing worksheet to your final copy to submit at the beginning of the hour tomorrow.
