This week you will be working on Mod. 5, Lesson 14.  There are 3 separate videos included in the link below.  Please pause and start the videos at your own pace.  You may also rewind and listen to parts that you didn’t  understand or need to watch the steps again.  The teachers in the videos will pause for you to answer out loud during the video and then give you examples of answers you may have thought about. 

There are also printable links for the student work and homework helper.  If you cannot print, please do your work on a separate piece of notebook paper while looking at the problems on the screen.  You do not have to do all 3 parts in one day.

I have assigned one lesson for this week – Interpreting visual information.  

Make sure to complete at least 45 minutes on iReady plus the assigned lesson. Passing score should be minimum 70% and above. Take your time when answering the questions on the quiz.

This week we would like you to create an informational slideshow on coronavirus. This virus is the reason why our schools are closed and it is important that we know exactly what it is. Please click on the link and read or listen to the book, then read the article from National Geographic kids. After you have read and learned about coronavirus please complete the Sideshow template by writing in sentences on the slides.

(2) Read through the ReadWorks passage.
(3) Answer the questions.
(4) Click “Submit” when you are done.

You do NOT need to log into ReadWorks. It is all in the Google Form.

SOCIAL STUDIES (4 – C3.0.1: Give examples of ways the Constitution limits the powers of the federal government
(e.g., election of public officers, separation of powers, checks and balances, Bill of Rights); 4 – C2.0.1:
Explain how the principles of popular sovereignty, rule of law, checks and balances, separation of powers, and individual rights (e.g., freedom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of press) serve to limit the powers of the federal government as reflected in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.)
We’re focusing on the Bill of Rights. Go over all the slides. Understand the 10 amendments.

Complete the Google Form for Social Studies by reading through the information, taking notes, watching the video, and answering the questions.

When you are done with a section, press “next” to move on. You may press “back” to go back to earlier sections in the quiz.
