Remote Learning Week 1

March 16-20, 2020

Week 1 of At-Home Learning

Hello, dear ones! I just wanted to start off by telling you how much I miss you already. I’m so sorry this is happening to us this year. I hope you and your family are safe at home and feeling well. If you need ANYTHING, please let me know.

Below are your assignments that need to be finished by next Monday, March 23.

Reading:

Watch one of the YouTube Read Alouds that I posted on Google Classroom each day. Write a comment about the story below the video.
Log-In to RAZ Kids with new login information:
- Go to www.raz-kids.com
- Click Kids Login
- Teacher Username- areegeshakarchi
- Username: *Student’s First Name
- Password: Birthday in Number Form
Choose 1 from Below every Day

Real Books	RAZ Kids
Read a book from your book bag, a library book, or a book from home for 30 minutes. Write a 4-5 sentence summary about what you read. You can write it in your Reading Notebook or a blank piece of paper.	Listen, read independently, and take the quiz at the end of some books this week. You should work on this for 30 minutes a day.

Math:

Spend 20-30 minutes on Zearn every day (By Friday, March 20th you should be done with Module 4, Lesson 11. If you are already passed this lesson, then keep moving forward)
Assignment- There will be another assignment on Google Classroom to complete.
Take Quiz- Module 4, Topic C. It will be posted to Google Classroom soon.

Writing

Write for 20 minutes each day. You may write in your Draft Book if you got it from school or another notebook you have at home. (You will be turning these in upon return to school.)
If you’d rather type it into Google Docs, you may. I will set some up in Google Classroom.
You can free write OR choose from the prompts below.
- Monday- Imagine a giant box is delivered to your house today and it has your name on it. What is in it? Who is it from? What do you do with it?
- Tuesday- Happy St. Patrick’s Day! How would you create a trap to catch a leprechaun?
- Wednesday- Write about what it would be like to have an alligator as a pet.
- Thursday- If you had $1,000, what would you buy?
- Friday- What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
