Monday’s Math and Reading Lessons-3/30

The Top 20 Reasons To Workout... As Decided By You | Quotable ...

Good Morning!

I hope that this email finds you and your family well! For today’s math and reading lessons I have decided to post them both on Google Classroom.

From now on, all assignments will be kept together on Google Classroom. Originally as a third grade team, we decided to keep math on iBlog at the beginning since we knew all parents were familiar with iBlog. If parents didn’t get onto Google Classroom, we at least knew their child was getting some extra learning with math.

However, since you are all remote learning rockstars, and the feedback I received from our Parent Survey, I decided to move our math over to be with the other subject areas. This will help keep all of our learning in one place and hopefully keep us all organized a little better.

I will continue to keep posting updates like this on my iBlog so make sure to stay tuned here during the remain of our Remote Learning adventure.

Thank you for all for your support and understanding. As always if you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at anytime.

Week at a Glance for the Week of 03/29

Happy Sunday Everyone,

I hope this post finds your family healthy and well. I can’t believe we are now going into our third week of Remote Learning! Wow! This week will be our last week before our Spring Break. So make sure you take the time this week to work on those assignments so that way you can enjoy a complete school-work free Spring Break! Remember that all assignments are given a week from when they are assigned to be completed. They do not have to be completed that day, however please try to get them at least a week after they are assigned. Thank you!

Please make sure that you and your child take the Math Checkpoint (quiz) that was assigned on Friday. This will help the third grade team see where we need extra teaching support. To take the math checkpoint, please refer back to Friday’s math assignment.

Attached below you will find the week at a glance with specific assignment details and the date of them being released.

I have also created more of a calendar view of the week at glance with due dates. You don’t have to use this one, but some may prefer this layout.

Lastly, please see Google Classroom for your weekly reading log and writing prompt!

Have a Great Sunday!

Wednesday’s Math Lesson- 03/25

It’s time for Wednesday’s math lesson. Hopefully you are all doing extremely well this morning. For today’s lesson, our objective is to relate side lengths with the number of tiles on a side to identify the area. To start off, I would like for you to check your answers on your math work from Module 4, Lesson 3. Those answers are listed below:

Application Problem Answer:

Fluency Practice:

In order to keep up on our multiplication facts, I would like for you to review your facts. Go ahead and play the game listed below for the next 10 mins.

http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/mathman/mathman_multiplication.htm

Application Problem:

Complete Module 4, Lesson 4’s application problem. The problem can be found below:

Concept Development:

Remember that today’s learning target is all about how we count the sides of tiles to identify the length of that tile. This strategy will help us recall the area of a shape. Since if we don’t have square units inside the shape, we could always use the math formula Length X Width = area (in square units). We can find the length and the width by counting the length of the tiles.

Watch the following video about Module 4, Lesson 4.

Independent Practice:

For today’s practice, I would like for you to complete Module 4, Lesson 4’s homework (questions 1-4). The homework can be found below:
