Bellwork reviewed using slope, distance, and midpoint formulas to find the best name for a quadrilateral.  This is called a Coordinate Proof.

Hwk #2 is due today.

The remainder of the period we finished discussing Coordinate Proofs using numerical coordinates such as the bellwork and also Coordinate Proofs using coordinates that are variables because this proves that it is true for all numbers.

No hwk was assigned.

Bellwork reviewed doing a coordinate proof to determine the best name for a quadrilateral.

Hwk #21 is due today.

The remainder of the period we discussed Sec 6-6, placing a quadrilateral on the coordinate plane and using the minimum number of variables to label the coordinates of the four vertices.

Hwk #22 is due tomorrow:

Sec 6-6, pages 344-345, problems 2-7, 23-26.

Hwk #20 is due today.

The remainder of the period we finished discussing Sec 6-5 and began Sec 6-6.

Hwk #21 is due on Monday.

Bellwork reviewed how to use the coordinates of the vertices of a quadrilateral to determine if it is a Parallelogram, Rhombus, Rectangle, or a Square.

The remainder of the period we continued working on “coordinates proofs” to determine the most precise name of a quadrilateral.  We then began our discussion on Sec 6-5, Trapezoids and Kites.

Students received the review for a quiz over Sections 6-1 to 6-4.  Quiz will be Thursday, April 10.

Bellwork reviewed concepts from Sec 6-3 and 6-4.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 6-4, Special Parallelograms.  Students learned the characteristics of a figure that makes it a Rhombus, Rectangle, or Square.

Hwk #19 assigned and due on Monday:

Sec 6-4, pages 332-335, problems 2, 4, 5, 6, 12, 16-18, 67-69

Bellwork reviewed ways to prove a quadrilateral is a parallelogram.

Hwk #18 due today.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 6-3, proving that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram.  We then began our discussion on Sec 6-4, Special Parallelograms.

No hwk assigned today.
