Students worked on an exercise in groups to explore the relationships between tables of values, graphs of these values, equations, and function names. After students worked on this activity we discussed what a function is and then went over the results of the activity. We also discussed Compound Inequalities and solving a system of linear equations.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 8-5. We then discussed calculating interest using Simple Interest and Compound Interest. This discussion lead to discovering the value of the number e. Students were then shown what a Natural Logarithm is and how it can be used.

Bellwork reviewed matching exponential functions and their graphs and finding the final amount of a quantity given a percent change.
