Bellwork reviewed using technology to make a scatter plot and find a regression equation to model the data. Students also practiced the skill of graphing a quadratic function using at least five points.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing Sec 5-2 by practicing one method for graphing a quadratic function. Students were also introduced to a second method which we will discuss in more detail another day.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on creating a scatter plot using technology and finding the equation of either a line or a quadratic to model the data. This is called a Regression equation.

The remainder of the period we reviewed characteristics of Quadratic Functions and their graphs.
Students then learned how to create a scatter plot using the graphing calculator and then find a Linear Regression and Quadratic Regression Equation. We also discussed the topic of Correlation and what the Correlation Coefficient tells us when finding a Regression Equation.
