Bellwork reviewed the use of Factored Form of a Quadratic Function to find:  x-intercepts, solutions, zeros, Line of Symmetry, Vertex, y-intercept, and graph of the function.  Also reviewed was the skill of factoring a quadratic.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing sec 5-5, Solving Quadratic Equations.  We discussed solving by factoring and by using square roots.

Hwk #19 will be due next week (date TBD):  Pages 270-271, Problems 2, 3, 5-7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 51, 52

Bellwork reviewed graphing parabolas in Standard Form and Vertex Form along with practice factoring .

Hwk #18 is due today.

The remainder of the period we finished discussion sec 5-4 (factoring) and began discussing Sec 5-5 (solving quadratic equations).

Quiz over Sections 5-1 to 5-4 is Monday, 11/3.  Students received the review earlier this week.

Bellwork reviewed graphing quadratics and finding max/min values and when they occur (vertex) as well as review of expanding the product of two binomials.

Hwk #17 is due today.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing factoring algebraic expressions (Sec 5-4).

Hwk #18 will be due on Thursday:  Pages 263-264, Problems 11, 16, 20, 21, 31, 33, 40, 44, 45, 53, 58.
