1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:

Bellwork gave students practice finding real solutions by graphing and using these solutions and polynomial division to find the imaginary solutions.

The remainder of the period we finished discussing Sec 6-3 by covering the topics of the Remainder Theorem and Synthetic Division.

Hwk #31 is due tomorrow.     Sec 6-3

Page 324.       Problems 11, 12, 23, 28, 29, 43, 44.  For #23 use polynomial division only.  For #’s 28 & 29 use Remainder Theorem only.

4th hour:

Bellwork gave students practice on multiplying matrices by hand and find the determinant and inverse of a matrix by hand.

The remainder of the period we discussed what the inverse of a matrix is used for and how to solve matrix equations using inverse matrices.

Hwk #23 will be due on Friday, January 13.  Practice Sheet: Solving Matrix Equations.

5th Hour:

Bellwork gave students practice multiplying matrices by hand.

The remainder of the period we finished discussing how to multiply two matrices, what the Identity Matrix is, what the inverse of a number is, and what the product of two matrices would be if one of them is the inverse of the other.
