1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:

Bellwork gave students practice finding real solutions to a polynomial by graphing on the graphing calculator then using these solutions and polynomial division to find the remaining imaginary solutions.

The remainder or the period students were shown how to use “The Box” to perform polynomial division.  “The Box” is one method to expand the product of two polynomials.

Hwk #31      was assigned.  Due date is still to be determined.

Sec 6-3,     Page 324,   Problems 11, 12, 23, 28, 29, 43, 44

For #23 use long division or division with the box

For 28 and 29 use the Remainder Theorem only.

4th Hour:

Bellwork gave students a method to  multiply two matrices by hand.

The remainder of the period students were given more practice multiplying matrices by hand (Sec 4-3).  Students were also introduced to the concepts of the Indentity matrix, the Determinant of a matrix, and the Inverse of a matrix.

Hwk #23 was made available to the students.  Due date for this homework is still to be determined.  Practice Sheet, solving matrix equations.
