Math Unit 3

  • Write numerals in word form Ex: 324 three hundred twenty-four
  • Expanded form Ex: 324 300 + 20 + 4
  • Prime and Composite numbers Ex: 7 is prime because it has only two factors 1 and 7; 21 is composite because it has more than two factors 1 and 21; 3 and 7
  • Factors Ex: the two numbers that multiply together to give you a product. 1 and 6, 2 and 3: are all factors of 6
  • Multiples Ex: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, ….. are all multiples of 5
  • Multiplicative comparison Ex: 40 is eight times more than 5     ­40 = 8 X 5
